Hi all,

There are still many things that are not working. I need EACH of you to go through with extreme care and make sure that the DVD is PERFECT. Cory, please burn some extra copies and distribute them to your team for testing on:

1) PC

2) MAC

3) DVD Player - standard DVD player hooked to TV.

Many of these errors are ones that I commented on the blog about but were not changed. Compression issues we will have to test. but we want the same quality image for the whole piece. watch out for fields issues.

Assign one person (Nick V?) to do a search online for preparing HDV footage for SD DVD in Final Cut Pro. That is probably what the concern may be. HD footage also has fields, but more of them. so I believe part of the problem may be going from HDV to DVD format. We may have to remove the fields first, then put them back in. But the HD footage should look the BEST not the worst. Please find out what you learn and then post it on the blog.

Assign one person to test the SOUND levels. Play each of the animation/video/client works and make sure that there are no giant changes between volume (i.e one too quiet, or too loud).

Here is what I've found on my first pass (BUT MAY NOT BE ONLY ERRORS - YOU CHECK):

CLIENT WORK:

1) Basketball - terrible compression. cuts in the middle. have it cut after a section is competed regardless of whether it is precisely 2 minutes. Don't use 4.44.B because that was a missed shot that we had to make up. Choose the BEST two minute section.

2) Sculpture: terrible compression

3) SACI: Compression good, but finish off the first section to when we had Art History come up, then cut. You end it right in the middle.

4) GAS: bad compression

5) Fed: Cut out AFTER he finishes that section. You cut it right in the middle of when he is talking, cut after that section is done, on the transition.

AP: opens in a smaller window (goes out of Full Screen mode). Fix this.

DP: OK

DI: Kyle B - #1 = shrinks weird - black bar added to top & bottom
