The Digital Arts Division at BGSU offers advanced study and the development of professional artistic expression in Digital Imaging, Interactive Multimedia, Video Art, 3D Modeling and Animation, and Hybrid Media Forms. Courses investigate theoretical, aesthetic, and technical information while providing hands-on-experience with state-of-the-art equipment, emphasizing both the technical and aesthetic. The School has an open, collaborative curriculum, as well as an excellent gallery and visiting artist program, and is one of the most recognized digital art programs in the nation.

The School of Art offers MFA and BFA degrees in Digital Arts with three areas of focus:

Imaging
Computer generated still images with both 2D digital imaging and 3D modeled & rendered still images. Emphasis on advanced and alternative printing techniques including 3D digital clay printing.

Animation & Video Art
Both 2D and 3D animation with a strong emphasis on 3D animation as well as video art production, motion graphics, and compositing.

Interactive Multimedia

Emphasis on World Wide Web development including HTML, CSS, and Javascript programming, as well as creative DVD & CDROM multimedia authoring.
